The elected leaders driving NACOSU's national agenda — accountable, accessible, and student-focused.
MC
Michelo Chizombe leads NACOSU's national agenda with a focus on student welfare, government engagement, and youth participation in national development. Under his leadership, NACOSU has strengthened its relationship with State House, secured a landmark MoU with JCI Zambia, and publicly advocated on some of the most pressing issues facing Zambian students today.
He has been a vocal critic of attacks on students, publicly condemning incidents at Levy Mwanawasa University as "inhumane," and has consistently pushed for policies that protect vulnerable students, especially young women.
LN
Lloyd Nsonge serves as Vice Chairperson, coordinating NACOSU's engagement with student unions across Zambia's provinces. He has been central to the organisation's outreach on the Copperbelt, where he has led engagement between students and national leadership on issues of welfare, funding, and educational access.
He advocates for unity across the student movement, emphasizing that a coordinated voice is more effective in pushing for policy change than fragmented efforts at individual institutions.
VS
Vincent Sakala serves as Secretary General, responsible for the administration of NACOSU's national secretariat and coordination of communications across member institutions. He has been a prominent voice in NACOSU's public statements on government initiatives, including the recent praise for free education, meal allowances, and sanitary pad distribution.
He also led communications around the invitation to President Hichilema to attend a Lusaka meet-and-greet with students.
BM
Blossom Mwanza leads NACOSU's Women's League, championing the interests of female students across Zambia. She has been a strong advocate for the government's free sanitary pad programme, describing it as a boost to SDG 3 on health and gender equality.
Her work focuses on ensuring female students have equal access to education, safety on campus, and the support they need to succeed academically and beyond.
